Tattered Times Masculine Card

The products used to make this card and the instructions are listed below.

1. I used a full sheet of the 4.5 x 6.5" piece from Tattered Times DCWV mat stack to make the front of the card.

2. Mat this piece in black card stock using double sided tape to adhere the pieces together.

3. Lay your matted piece on the edge of your 12 x 12 chocolate card stock and leave a small edge down both sides as an additional mat. Approx 17.5cm x 30cm (7" x 12"). Cut this strip for your card

4. Place your matted picture at the bottom edge of the card piece allowing the same distance along the bottom as you have allowed along the edge as shown.

5. Place a small mark above the photo after allowing for your matt edge. Score across the width of the card at this point. This will be your card half fold. Fold on the scored line (approx 5" or 12.75cm)

6. You will see when your card is folded that the back of your card is longer than the front. Score the back piece of card along the edge at the same height as your front card bottom edge and fold this piece up and adhere to the inside of your back piece. This becomes the easel stand.

7. Take hold of the front of your card piece and fold the bottom edge up inside to meet the centre fold. Press and use your bone folder to get a sharp line.

8. Open this front piece out and put double sided tape around the bottom, two sides up to that first fold line and just below the fold line. Adhere your matted card piece to this tape. This now should give you the easel effect if you pull on the top of your matted piece.

9. Cut a strip from the mat stack as shown in the photo approx 4 cm deep and the width of the piece. Adhere this with double sided tape to the inside of your card as shown.

10. Cut a tape measure from your mat stack piece and adhere this as shown.

11. I wrote the words "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but..." around the arch on the clock face as shown.

12. I typed the rest of the quote "by the moments that take our breath away". This was typed in Times New Roman 18pt.

13. Tear around your typed piece allowing enough room to add additional writing for your personal message and to fit correctly inside your card.

14. Ink the edges of the tear and using a cotton ball, sponge the same colour ink over your page. Adhere to the inside of your card

I have added some watch gears and additional watch pieces to the front of the card.

You will see in the product list that there are two options for purchasing the Tattered Times Mat Stack. The full stack or one third of a stack - 24 pieces - one of each design in the stack. I am willing to break other stacks on request if I have more than one still available. Please ask.
